About Campbelltown Private Hospital

State-of-the-art operating theatres

Your surgery will be performed in one of our 8 state-of-the-art operating theatres. These impressive theatres attract leading surgeons and highly-qualified surgical teams from across Australia.

Our surgical teams are supported by world-class technology and equipment in the theatres. We work closely with imaging and pathology partners to bring market-leading diagnostic technology to you and our community. We are the first hospital in southwest Sydney to provide robotic surgical services allowing our patients access to world class services in the local area.

Robotic-assisted urological surgery

Robotic-assisted surgery is a form of laparoscopic surgery. It involves the use of a device which allows the surgeon to sit at a console away from the patient, driving robotic arms which operate laparoscopic instruments.

This technology offers the surgeon magnified 3-dimensional vision inside the patient’s body and wristed laparoscopic instruments which have more freedom of movement than the human hand. These features allow precise dissection.

In turn, robotic surgery is a minimally invasive, alternative to more traditional open operations.

Our experienced surgeons have completed training including dedicated robotic fellowships and additional training at expert centres.

Robotic-assisted procedures at Campbelltown Private Hospital:

  • Robotic-assisted radical prostatectomy with nerve sparing
  • Extended pelvic lymph node dissection
  • Robotic-assisted partial nephrectomy
  • Robotic-assisted radical nephrectomy
  • Robotic-assisted radical cystectomy
  • Robotic-assisted simple prostatectomy
  • Robotic pyeloplasty
